Govt of India has imposed definitive anti-dumping duty on imports of flax fabric from China and Hong Kong. Flax fabric is a woven fabric with more than 30 per cent flax content. Flax is also known as linen.

The anti-dumping duty is equivalent to the difference between Rs 206.24 per metre and the *landed value*.

In the case of imports from Hong Kong, the anti-dumping duty will be equivalent to difference between Rs 209.72 per metre and the *landed value*.

The definitive duty would be levied for a period of five years from March 26, 2009, which was the date of imposition of provisional anti-dumping duty.

Jaya Shree Textiles (a unit of Aditya Birla Novo Ltd) had filed the petition seeking anti-dumping probe on flax fabric imports from China and Hong Kong.
